I created the Great Boss Academy because I saw too many good people struggling in leadership - stressed, overwhelmed, and questioning if they were doing it right. They were firefighting, carrying the weight of the team, and feeling like they had to have all the answers.
And it was costing them - energy, confidence, and sometimes even their love for the job.
I spent 15 years leading teams in East Africa—running a charity, a social enterprise, and a dental practice. No leadership manual, no formal training - just learning through experience, mentors, and plenty of mistakes. I know what it’s like to feel out of your depth, to want to get it right but not be sure how.
So, I made it my mission to change that.
I take everything I’ve learned—what works, what doesn’t—and turn it into simple, practical strategies that help leaders feel in control. No fluff, no nonsense—just real tools to build strong teams, handle the tough stuff, and create a culture where people thrive.
The result? Leaders who feel confident, teams that work together, and businesses that run smoothly. Less stress, fewer headaches, and more time to focus on what actually matters.

Having spent 15 years in East Africa as a senior leader of an international development charity, where I eventually became the CEO, I understand the pressures you face. We managed various programmes, including a social enterprise and a full-service private dental practice, so I am well-versed in the demands of dental leadership.
Despite not receiving formal leadership training, I managed to thrive! Through the guidance of my mentors, coaches, and a great deal of studying, reading, and practice, I learned how to lead and, more importantly, how to view myself as a leader.
I have successfully led teams for over 20 years, gradually developing my leadership skills and knowledge on the job, day by day, week by week, and month by month. Now, I have distilled the insights I've gained into user-friendly programs to support people like you.
